History
This town, which is now the county seat for Williamson County was first originated in 1799 by Abram Maury Jr. who named the city after the founding father who bears the same name. This Nashville suburb was a staple in the American Civil War where battles were fought and soldiers were taken care of in any one of the 44 buildings that were converted into hospitals.
